Apsara-Arts of Asia was founded when two art collectors traveling in Indonesia became enthralled with the splendor, quality and originality of indigenous textiles and artifacts. They soon returned to build the Apsara collection: each item is hand selected for its beauty and unique ethnographic story. Most date from the 18th to the mid 20th century. The collection started in Indonesia, but the art itself leads back to its cultural roots, i.e. India and the balance of Southeast Asia.
Clients include museums such as the Smithsonian and some of the world's most celebrated interior designers, architects and stage and film set decorators. Apsara-Arts of Asia has participated in the finest tribal and Asian art shows throughout the USA, and was invited to do a talk and presentation to the Textile Society of Chicago.
Many of their textiles are ready to be framed as art, can be used for pillows, throws, upholstery, and other creations. All are available for sale or rental.
Aspara-Arts invites you to a private showing selected from their extensive inventory. Consulting services are available.
