This book brings back to life a wonderful and somewhat forgotten era. The 70's and 80's in New York; two whole decades in which creativity, art, glamour and the night ruled the city. Another Planet is a tribute to this historical time, to the giants of fashion, art and to a society where drag queens, gamblers, hustlers, artists, clubbers, the legendary Studio 54, the movie theaters on 42nd St., the peep shows, the prostitutes, the meat district and the fish market were part of every day life.

The photographer, Christophe von Hohenberg, not only lived this by-gone era, but documented it thoroughly. During these twenty years he not only attended participated, experienced and witnessed exhibitions, private parties, artists gatherings, film sites and more, but armed with his camera, Christophe captured these iconic moments and legendary personalities in real time. His candid photographs pay hommage to the style and emotion which characterize what he himself refers to as "a great era."

Through his lenses the lives of some of the greatest personalities including Allen Ginsberg, Julian Schnabel, Cornelia Guest, Robert Kennedy Jr., Britney Spears, Bianca Jagger were candidly chronicled.

In addition to the photographs, this scrap book includes a collection of letters, anecdotes and reflections from others who Christophe continued to follow up with since Studio 54's hey day, through Andy Warhol's funeral to present day catwalks. "If you lived it, you remember and you had something to say. It was a great time to be alive" says von Hohenberg'.
