Carolina von Humboldt was born in Paris to Spanish-German parents, she has lived and traveled extensively over Europe and Latin America, and speaks five languages fluently.
She started her career in Paris as a textile designer for D. Porthault, studied trompe l’oeil in Paris, Milan and Rome before becoming an color consultant.
Subsequently she designed and curated fairs and exhibitions in Paris, Madrid, and Germany.
At the request of her many clients she made the exciting and natural leap to decorating entire interiors.
Carolina combines classic and modern pieces with a few outstanding accessories. “Interior decoration is a balance that naturally brings about enduring flair and style…. as much as dressing elegantly, or setting a table, decorating is an art form that enhances style and comfort.”
Carolina has not only collected unique fabrics, art and decorative objects, while traveling the world, but also established hard to get contacts with outstanding modern and antique furniture manufacturers and dealers.
In 2007, after having lived most of her life in Europe and Latin America, she moved to New York City. Since her move she has, among numerous private homes, decorated the head offices of Estee Lauder Europe in Paris, France, as well as the corporate offices of Fiducial in Paris, Lyon, and Antwerpen. She recently decorated the famous French bistro “Bilboquet” at its new location on 60th Street in New York.
