Direct from the Faubourg St. Honoré, Paris, Martin du Louvre is bringing must-see pieces from their highly curated collection to Palm Beach for an exclusive exhibit at The Silver Fund, February 7th through the 15th. Specializing in twentieth century classic moderns of the international schools, with a particular focus on sculpture, Martin du Louvre is known for presenting rare works from private collections as opposed to opting for the obvious, the readily available and the easily accessible.
Among the works which will be offered are two sculptures by Auguste Rodin: The Hand of a Pianist, and the Caryatid of the Girl with an Upturned Nose. The former belonged to the flamboyant writer, playwright and friend of Rodin, Sacha Guitry. Rodin presented his model of the Caryatid as a gift to the Ambassador of Mexico to France.

Michael James, owner of The Silver Fund Palm Beach is particularly excited about the upcoming exhibit of Martin de Louvre-- "Martin de Louvre embraced the Palm Beach market as a pioneer exhibitor during the early days of the Palm Beach Fine Art Fair, when it was held 'under a tent'." "It may have been a 'tent site', but it certainly drew savvy and sophisticated art connoisseurs, " says David Le Louarn, principal of the gallery. "The Palm Beach audience clearly appreciated the works Martin du Louvre represents, and we're thrilled to offer them a more intimate oportunity to revisit with them," says Michael James of the Silver Fund.
The Op-artist, Victor Vasarely will be represented by Four Compositions, produced as prototypes for Aubusson by their needlepoint atelier, Tabard.
