​Fluent in four languages, she graduated from Le Rosey in Switzerland, attended Duke and Georgetown Universities, graduated Cum Laude with Bachelor of Arts Degree. Prior to founding Altima Int'l, Alvarez worked in the diplomatic arena. Her diplomatic career kicked off when she was offered a position in the she was offered a position in the diplomatic corps as attaché to the Court of St James in 1984. Alvarez represented Costa Rica in the UN.
